Fortnite Shop Token Guide: How to Get the Pirate Shop Token
The shop token is a rare chest drop. Find it and every item sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop is free to claim for 14 days, once in 2026 and once in 2027.
What is the Fortnite shop token?
It is Pirate Shop Access, the rarest Treasure Hunt prize. The in-game reward screen says: Plunder the Fortnite Item Shop - twice! Activate the Pirate Shop once in 2026 and once in 2027.
It is not a currency and gives no V-Bucks.
How to get the Pirate Shop token, step by step
- Play Battle Royale during Treasure Hunters. The mini-season started Nov 1, 2026. Chests can award the token until it ends, Dec 5 in most reports.
- Open every chest you can. A chest can roll a Treasure Hunt prize, and Pirate Shop Access is the rarest one. Guides disagree on whether all chests count or only Treasure, Buried, Sprite and Rare chests.
- Play in a squad. If a teammate finds it, your squad or party reportedly gets it too (random fill teammates are unconfirmed), so four players open about four times as many chances.
- Loop back. Chests refill over time in Treasure Hunters, and the Fortune Sprite reveals nearby chests.
- Watch for the gold banner. "YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS" means it is on your account, even if you are eliminated afterwards.
Best chest locations for the Pirate Shop token
No location is proven to change the odds per chest. What a good spot does is let you open more chests per match. Two chest guides suggest the same route:

How to activate the Pirate Shop
- Back in the lobby, open the Shop tab.
- Select Plunder the Item Shop (bottom right).
- Press Activate Now. Your 14 days start at that moment, not before.

Dec 15, 2026 at 6 PM GMT-6, which is 7 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific and Dec 16 at 00:00 UTC, according to an in-game capture. The 2027 activation runs from Jan 1 to Dec 15, 2027.
Does my squad get the token if a teammate finds it?
Several outlets and trackers say yes: if anyone in your squad or party finds it, everyone in the group gets it. Epic's reward text does not mention squads.
Do I keep the skins after the 14 days?
Yes, according to the first winner. The 14-day limit applies to claiming items, not to keeping them.
Can I buy a Pirate Shop token or get it from a code?
